Florida Man with 18 Felonies Arrested in Mud after Hijacking Street Sweeper

Daytona Beach, FL – Florida Man and police officer fell into a mud-filled ditch during a chase after FL hijacked a street sweeper on June 13.

The suspect reportedly stole the street sweeper in an armed carjacking in Daytona Beach.

A BOLO (Be-On-The-Lookout) was issued for Florida Man, describing him as a “light-skinned black male wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants, with short dreadlockstyle hair” and driving the stolen street sweeper around.

The Florida man was apprehended when a police officer tackled him into the ground, landing both of them in the muddy trench. Police officer sustained minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital. Sheriff announced that he is overjoyed that the police officer will be making a full recovery from his boo-boos.

According to police reports, the suspect even tried to fend off the law by telling the officers that he was 17, but was later identified as 18-year-old Sterling Orlando Davis-Jones. 

To make things even crazier, this isn’t the first time this Florida man had a brush with the law. Davis-Jones’ first record was in 20014 when he was just 10 years old! With 18 misdemeanor offenses and 18 felony offenses under his belt, he is now on Juvenile Probation for Grand Theft
