Florida Man Killed by Gator while Trying to Retrieve Frisbee

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities are investigating a possible gator attack that left a man dead at a park in Largo.

The Largo Police Department responded to the incident, which occurred Tuesday morning on Taylor Lake at John S. Taylor Park, 1100 8th Ave S.W.

Police said the man’s death was being investigated as a possible gator attack. Detectives believe he was in the water, looking for a frisbee before he died.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and trappers are on their way to the scene, police said.

Further information about the incident was not immediately available.

There have been a number of alligator attacks and bite incidents in the area. In 2020, a man at Taylor Park was bit in the face by an alligator when he went into a lake to retrieve his disc golf disc.
